Ribbon Organization

Do you find that you have a lot of ribbon?
Well, I had a pile like this until now!

I used plastic embroidery floss bags (these can be found anywhere embroidery floss is sold) and an old paper towel holder to organize my ribbon.
The bags come with 2 holes in them.  I used loose-leaf rings to fasten the bags together.  I needed to repeat this step because I had a lot of ribbon.
Now, slip the rings over the paper towel holder and voilĂ !
I find myself feeling like I'm shopping for ribbon with the way
I flip throught the bags!

More Freezer Paper Stenciling Shirts

Saturday is my first triathalon of the season.  I'm so excited, nervous and can't wait to get in and out of the water and back on dry land!  I am so addicted to my Silhouette and freezer paper right now.  Here are a few things I have
made in preperation for the big event...
On the "Wife" and "Mom" I used regular fabric pant then added glitter glue after it was dry (before I pulled off the freezer paper).  I have found that after trying a few different processes using glue and adding glitter, the actual glitter glue in a tube works better (and much easier) than this other process.

Tooth Fairy

A few weeks ago E found that she had a loose tooth.  She was so EXCITED!  Saturday, her tooth fell out.  I can't believe my little girl has lost her first tooth.  The Mr. and I are having a hard time with her growing up.
Please stay little!!!
If you look close you can see her tongue sticking through the hole where her (bottom) tooth was!

I found the cutest poem for her tooth box:
In this box you will find
A teensy tiny tooth of mine.
As I sleep where dreams are made
Let's see if we can make a trade.
I mod podged it to the top of an old jewelry box.
I think it turned out so cute.
I forgot to take a pic of her tooth before the tooth fairy took it!!!

Zhu Zhu Clothes

My girls love accessorizing their Zhu Zhus.  I was having a hard time paying a lot for Zhu Zhu clothes so I found a way to make them.
Here are a few that I have made.
All you need is a sewing machine, scraps of fabric, and ponytail holders.
Use your Zuh Zuh as your guide to see how long/wide you want your clothes.
I surged aroung all 4 sides.  If you don't have a surger, zig zag the edges.
I don't like raw edges.  They fray.
Then I turned 3 sides so they were finished.
The 4th side is wrapped around the ponytail holder and sewn.
All done!
This is what it looks like under the Zuh Zuh!

New Pet

I am not an animal lover.  I like them but I am allergic to most.  A few years ago we won a fish (at the country fair days).  At first it was so fun but then it got to be too much work.  I was constantly cleaning the bowl or it would stink up our home - gross.  I didn't have the heart to flush it so we posted an ad for free fish, bowl, food, etc., and within minutes Bluh Bluh had a new home!

Well, we are at it again.  We now have a pet pig (thanks to my father-in-law).
He is so perfect.  He doesn't eat, poop, or tear up my furniture.
A few neighbors have let my girls walk their dogs so now we walk the pig!
or pull the pig around!!!

Want Longer Lashes?

A few months ago I had lash extensions (fake eyelashes).  I LOVED them!  I didn't have to use mascara and they looked natural.  Well, I noticed that they were breaking off my natural lashes so I had to stop wearing them.  I don't have a lot of lashes to begin with so I literally was left with nothing.  I didn't know what I was going to do until I found this...
LiLash is an eyelash stimulator that makes lashes grow.
All you do is apply it daily like a liquid eyeliner.
The package states that it takes about 4-6 weeks to notice anything and sure enough, it took about 6 weeks to see results and now I have long and a fuller lashes.  It really works!!!

I wish I had a before and after pic-trust me, it is amazing.

 LiLash tip:
Lilash is applied above your lashes similarly to a liquid eyeliner. There is no need to apply more than one swipe per application. For best results, alternate the direction of your application each time you use LiLash. For example one time apply from the inside of your eyelid to the outside. The next time apply from the outside in.  This will give the most uniform results to your lashes.
Apply morning or evening.

Painted Rug

As a child my parents painted a hopscotch pattern on our driveway.  I spent many hours hopping around on it!  I have wanted to paint one at our house but I live in an HOA so I can't.  I found this rug at the local
"do it yourself" store on clearance.

I know that I could have bought this but I wanted to MAKE them one!
Before                                  After
I used blue (painter's) tape to tape off my lines.
It didn't stick very well but it worked.
I painted the lines with fabric paint,
removed tape, and let the rug dry overnight.
Now, this was the fun part.  I made numbers stencils with my
silhouette and freezer paper.
Note: Carpet and irons don't get along very well!!! Be sure to only use the tip of the iron to get the freezer paper to stick.

Paint your numbers and let them dry.
Next, I made a hobby tah (that is what we called it as kids) or bean bag.
I used  two squares of fabric and sewed 3 1/2 sides leaving an opening for beans.
I found using a piece of rolled up paper to be the easiest way to fill the bag.
Sew around the edges.
All done!
Because of the wet spring weather we have a hopscotch in our hallway.
It's a lot of fun.
I think we might leave it there year round!!!

U of U Spring Game

Every year it is our family tradition to go to the U of U spring football game.
It is so fun.  It has been fun watching the program grow.  I remember just a few years ago only a few sections were full of fans.  This year it was packed.
Now they open up both sides of the stadium.
We made E's shirt = freezer paper + fabric paint + glitter glue
M's cheer outfit was made by my sister
This is E as a baby in it!!!
I can't believe how much she has grown.  So sad.
After the game they let everyone go on the field.
This is a perfect addition to our field!!!
What a perfect spring day and, yes, the Utes won!!!
