Mine don't look as tastie as her's but they sure tasted great!
I used bread crumbs because of lack of time.
For my vegetables kabobs, I cut up an onion, zucchini, squash, and mushrooms (those are for the Mr.- gross) and shook them in a zip lock bag with a little olive oil the sprinkled them with parmesan cheese. Then I placed the skewers on the upper rack of our grill while we cooked the meat (which got a little over cooked).
So sorry for the lack of posts this week. It has been crazy.
One week ago the Mr. and I ran the Ragnar Relay (post to come), then I worked Monday and Wednesday (normally I work just Mondays but I am taking time off to be with E) and then E had an adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy yesterday. E was pretty excited for her surgery. She knew that it was going to be painful and that she would have to relax a lot but she was most excited about eating A LOT of popsicles.
Dr. Barlow - He is WONDERFUL
This was so awful. After about an hour of questions and prodding, E was very nervous. The Mr. and I were not holding up too well. E just held on tight and didn't want to go. It was horrible. But after LOTS of hugs and kisses she was off and we sat for what seemed to be the longest 30 minutes of our life.
We knew that she was in good hands but this was our
first time having a child go into surgery.
We hope that we never have to do it again!
Finally done, now time to snuggle (I was in heaven)...until I started to feel a little woozy. I could smell a weird (don't know how to explain it) smell every time E would breath out (it was her anesthesia). I said to the Mr., "I don't feel well, will you take her?." Then he said that my eyes rolled back and I was out. The nurses came over and gave me oxygen, and cold packs. It was the craziest thing, I could hear what was going on, but I couldn't open my eyes, or move my arms or legs. I was sweating so bad. I literally passed out. I was so embarrassed, and I felt horrible that I couldn't hold E. After a little bit I was back to myself and E was doing great so we headed home. Crazy day.
Let the Popsicles begin.
E is doing great. It is kind of hard to keep her down!
We are so grateful that all went well, and for all of our visitors.
We feel so blessed to live in a place with so many
family and friends close by to visit.
We love you all and THANKS for the gifts and Popsicles!
Ok, so we have been going for a while but this is the first time I have taken my camera. My girls love it. They get to pick a few books, play computer games, and E checks out all on her own. She is so big!
Holy cow, maybe we should have brought a wagon!!!
Have you found your library? It really is cool.
I am sounding kindof like a nerd.
Find out what activities they do for the summer.
Our's does movies and all sort of other free activities.
Where do you store your valuables? Well, I don't really have any but when I found this idea I loved it! I think that all you would have to do is cut the bottom off of a can with a smooth edge can opener, empty and clean it out, glue an empty bottle (that has a screw lid) that is about the same size as the can to the top of the can and glue the lid of the bottle to the lid of the bottom of the can. That way your valuables will be safe and out of sight.
You may want to use a can of something that you normally don't use so that your kids
or the baby sitter wouldn't try to open it!
I would love to store treats that I don't want to share
with anyone or maybe my expo money in something like this .
Last night we found out that we may be evacuated from our home because of the flooding of a river near us. What do we take? Where do we go? Well, we are very blessed to have family nearby but what about those who don't? And what about those whose homes will be flooded? I have been through a major flood before and it is horrible. So for now we are praying and having faith that we will not have to leave (and taking a few things upstairs!).
This is a good reminder to really think about what is important and to be ready if we have to leave. Our city has an emergency preparedness program. The program includes a reverse 911 call system that allows the city to contact individuals to inform them of emergencies or evacuation orders. Does your city do that? If so, are you registered? I just registered my number and you should to! I'll keep you informed if anything happens.
After riding Little Red last week, I found the best socks at the post ride party.
They are for running and biking.
I love that I don't have to buy 2 different pairs of socks!
Also great for tri's.
They had a "ride special" so I bought a some for me and
some for the Mr. (a small gift for watching the girls!)
I came home wore them, washed them, and wore them again. I found that these fit the same as the day I bought them. Sometimes after washing socks they fit different. The Mr. loves his {not pictured}, too.
I called the company to tell them how much I love them and that I would be featuring them on my blog and they want to giveaway a pair
to one of my readers.
When you win, you pick the sock from their site and all you have to do is pay for is the shipping {$2}
YAHOO!
You can enter twice:
*Visit Lin Socks then leave me a comment on which sock is your favorite.
*Like them on facebook then leave me another comment.
If you run, bike, or just want a great non-cotton sock, these are awesome.
-Sorry pic is a little blurry. This is one of those pics that I was talking about on Monday's post-
This was such a cute idea that my sister did for E for her birthday that I had to share. I had to find out how she did it! First she emptied the water out of the bottle and removed the label. Next, she cut a small slit about the width of the label that allowed her to insert the candy. With card stock she covered the slit to make a new label and message. So easy but SO CUTE! This could be a gift for just about any occasion.
As I have mentioned before I love Huggies baby wipes. I always have them on hand. I have found that they clean everything from bums to pen on a chair. I have got to make this "wipe band". This is such a great idea because it looks like a decoration instead of a tube of wipes.
Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people with great taste.
People use Pinterest to collect and share all sorts of things they find!
It is the best!
This banner idea is brillant and, best of all, it's free! Love it!
HI and WELCOME to my blog. Here you will FIND things that I love. I hope you will FIND something that you love, too. Many of my pictures are taken at night (that is when I can get things done since the girls are asleep) so, sorry about the lighting. I'm working on improving it. Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you come back soon.
